Payback?

In addition to my gene talk in my last post, Ian's mother shared with us this weekend that out of ALL 12 of her children, Ian was the only one who displayed signs of colic...what is the phrase people say about payback again?
No, really now that we have experienced the crying fits, we are passed the initial shock and frustration and are sticking to our original thought that he is not crying for no reason. No one does, we just need to figure out what he wants or needs. So far Ian and I have slightly different beliefs on that. Ian has purchased an herbal remedy called Gripe Water, which we need to administer up to 6 time a day (I won't do it) and feels he needs to blast his innocent ear drums by blaring Neil Diamond, Simon & Garfunkel, and John Denver to name a few...I think showers are the ticket but we only have so much hot water- we both agree up and down bouncing is great, as well as an occasional pacifier session has been proven to buy us a few silent minutes.
At our super bowl party this weekend, my family was blessed with a little taste of his activities and my sister ensures me that it is nothing, her son Zeke was WAY worse(:

We used gripe water with both kids. Besides the fact that it smells like dill & spices, it works great. We found that Milo really loved it, and we did do it up to 6 times a day. Stick to it, I think it really does have a calming efect on their tummies! (Beware though, his little burps will stink). :o)

Maybe they changed the recipe because this and the burps that come with it smell like black licorice...:)
